What CIP had to say:
EPOS - A Case Study.
Sourcefour was recently approached by Richard Sutton Design in Grimsby with the goal of transitioning away from a costly Shopify eCommerce website. The client initially hosted two websites for each independent side of their business. The first was a WordPress website which aimed to drive custom and provide information regarding their Bathroom, Kitchen and Bedroom remodelling services. The second website was a Shopify-based eCommerce website which was used to distribute high-quality home interior products and accessories such as diffusers, candles, fixtures and even luxury furniture.
The Shopify website also featured a full-fledged in-store EPOS system which had proven to be a key asset to the business and needed to be replaced at least like-for-like.
Our first step as an agency was to evaluate the existing websites and analyse the UX as well as any pitfalls in the design and navigation that could cause friction for their users.
Our approach to this was to suggest rolling both websites into a single WordPress entity with a fresh new design and menu. This approach had several benefits for both the client and their customers.
Firstly, the client could now better monitor their traffic and conversions without the need for complex Google Analytics cross-domain tracking options and secondly, each aspect of the business could now be monitored via a single admin dashboard.
Customers were able to benefit by adding finishing touches and accessories to their proposed home re-modelling option without having to leave the website and visit the secondary accessories website.
Once the new site had been built, our SEO and Content teams stepped in to ensure that the new website was SEO friendly and that all of the old URLs from the previous accessories domain were successfully redirected to their new URL on the combined site.
This step helped to ensure that no traffic was lost during the migration, and allowed Richard Suttons a brief intermission where users could still reach their products through their existing search engine rankings.
The website was now ready to go live! The only thing missing was an EPOS system. Our Website Operations manager Alex worked in tandem with Ciaran from Card Industry Professionals to integrate Zettle with the new website. CIP then supplied a modern contactless card reader as well as training for our team on how to use the Zettle online and app-based EPOS system.
We then set up in-store for the fantastic folks at Richard Sutton Design as well as adding a variety of bespoke written products to their catalogue on their behalf.
Since its inception, the staff at Richard Sutton Design have commented on how much easier the system is to use than their previous Shopify EPOS. Managing Director of the company Richard Sutton had this to say.
“We have used another system for some years before recently switching to Zettle. SourceFour and Card Industry Professionals have been a great help with setting everything up and processing sales is now easier than ever. ”
